This summer, you'll be able to attempt to escape from Alcatraz - in the centre of Birmingham!

A new escape room venue is opening in the city, giving people the chance to crack codes, solve puzzles and work out riddles.

Escape Reality has centres in Coventry, Leicester and Cardiff, together with Chicago, Dubai and Las Vegas.

Now, a new facility is launching in the Jewellery Quarter in early July.

Here are the interactive escape challenges that will be available:

* Alcatraz - escape from the prison no-one has ever escaped from before

* Machina - escape robots after a science experiment goes wrong

* Iron Kingdom - a battle for the throne

* Legend of the Mummy - search for treasure in the pyramids

* Bank Job - locate and steal the diamond without getting caught

* Enigmista - a serial killer is on the loose

Escape Reality in the Jewellery Quarter

Players will have 60 minutes to escape their chosen themed room, which vary in difficulty.

Anita Foldvari, from Escape Reality Birmingham, said: “We are so excited to bring our new escape rooms to Birmingham.

“We’re always looking to expand our worldwide franchise and we couldn’t miss the chance to open in such a great city.

“Be prepared to come as friends but leave as heroes as you battle against time to escape our uber-real rooms.”

The 6,5000 sq ft venue in Birmingham will be on Constitution Hill, Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, B19 3JT.

Another venue is due to launch in Manchester in August too.

Advance booking are already being taken for Escape Reality Birmingham.
