Global Gathering, one of the biggest and best dance music festivals, arrives back in Stratford-upon-Avon for its ninth successive year next week.
The festival has come a long way since its debut at Long Marston Airfield in 2001, when 25,000 attended the scorching day-nighter.
The event is now a weekend-long affair, with capacity more than doubled to 55,000 and a huge campsite provided, as the biggest names in dance and electronic music descend for a dazzling and deafening two-day party.
With The Prodigy, Orbital and Pendulum already confirmed as this year’s headliners, the complete line-up reads like the ultimate dance festival marathon.
Taking to the main stage on Friday will be the men who made live dance rock, The Prodigy. The Global Arena will see Australian electronica-rock band Pendulum headline with support from Tiga, Erol Alkan and the first live appearance of Kissy Sellout.
The Godskitchen Arena, with the awesome Boombox DJ cage, will see Paul van Dyk headline with David Guetta. The Toolroom Knights will see house connoisseurs Axwell and D Ramirez. Booty shaking punks Stanton Warriors headline the Spectrum Arena with DJ Yoda. Richie Hawtin will bring his formable sound into the M Nus Floor Arena.
Saturday kicks off at 2pm for 14 hours of non-stop colourful mayhem. Orbital take charge, with international DJs including Eric Prydz, Fedde Le Grand and Nic Fanciulli in support.
Having toured with it around the world, Armin Van Burren will also play a special extended 3hr set of euphoric proportions inside the ‘Godskitchen Boombox’ which is not to be missed.
The Bedrock 10 Arena will see the legendary John Digweed and Sasha lift the crowd with their deep selection of tunes. Lisa Lashes will be holding no prisoners in the Polysexual Vs Hardcore Til I Die Arena with Tidy Boys.
For full details of the line-up by day across the Polysexual Arena, the brand spanking new Tuborg Live Stage, Fantasia Terrace, Dubstep Terrace, Random Concept and all other arenas check out www.globalgathering.co.uk.
