A marginally quieter week after all the excitement of having Dave Douglas and Dave Holland in town at the same time, and before the Christmas jazz parties really get going, but there are still a few gigs to draw you away from the home fires.

The upstairs room at the Biggin Hall in Coventry has that magic that pub rooms with a jazz history possess. Perhaps the music has been absorbed into the wallpaper along with the applause and sweaty good humour.

Whatever, adding another layer of atmosphere tomorrow night is hard bop drummer Dylan Howe and his band Five Corners.

Quentin Collins is on trumpet, Brandon Allen on tenor, Andrew McCormack on piano and Aidan O'Donnell on double bass.

The Biggin is in Binley Road, Coventry, it starts at 8pm and costs £8. Go to www.jazzcov.co.uk for more.
