Warwickshire-based baritone and composer Roderick Williams, recently dubbed "a national treasure" by BBC Music Magazine following his latest recordings of English songs, has two appearances coming up at Pershore's community arts centre, No 8.

On Friday, October 27, he is holding a masterclass for singers of all voice ranges at which members of the public are invited to gain an insight into techniques which can enhance performance.

Then on November 6 he gives a fundraising recital in aid of No 8, accompanied by Susie Allan, professor of accompaniment at the Royal College of Music, which ranges from Mozart and Schubert to George Butterworth and songs from Gershwin's Porgy and Bess.

Tickets cost £12.50 for the recital, £10 (audience and supporters) for the masterclass (Box office: 01386 555488).

No 8 is located on High Street, Pershore, Worcestershire.
