Budding Birmingham filmmakers will be given an insight into a UK Film Council scheme next week, designed to look for the next Steven Spielberg.
As a part of Urban Fusion, a series of creative events in the city, the First Steps in Film workshop will be held at the Electric Cinema in Station Road, on November 4 at 2pm, and hopes to attract youngsters from schools and youth groups in the West Midlands, to generate awareness about the First Light scheme.
It will also be open to professional filmmakers. Launched in 2001 to fund and inspire the making of short digital films made by young people, First Light is a Birmingham-based initiative supported by the UK Film Council and receives Lottery funding.
