Top comedian Joe Pasquale is to get the festive season off to a fun-packed start as the VIP guest at Birmingham Press Club’s Christmas lunch.

The popular funnyman will take time out from rehearsals for Sleeping Beauty in Wolverhampton for the special festive lunch.

Press Club chairman Ed James said: “Joe is well-known for being one of today’s hardest-working and top-selling comedians and we are thrilled that he has been able to accept our invitation.”

Joe, who will be made a life member of the Press Club in recognition of his professional achievements and support to the media industry, is this year appearing in the pantomime spectacular Sleeping Beauty at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton, which runs from December 7 until January 18.

But, before that, Joe has another date in Birmingham – this time on Thursday, November 7, at the New Alexandra Theatre, where he is to appear as Sherlock Holmes in Ha Ha Holmes – The Hound of the Baskervilles.

The Press Club Christmas Lunch will be held at the studio in Cannon Street, Birmingham, on Tuesday, December 3.

  • The Journalists’ Charity is going to the dogs for the 36th year running with the annual Greyhound Race Night at Hall Green Stadium on Saturday, November.

There are still a few opportunities for sponsorship, though, said Steve Dann, newly-elected chairman of the Midlands branch.
