Two popular independent food and drinks venues in Birmingham city centre are to appear for the first time at this year’s Colmore Food Festival.
Michelin starred Adam’s on Waterloo Street and Great Western Arcade-based Loki Wine will be among the 30 restaurants, bars and hotels offering tempting taster dishes at the annual celebration of the city’s food and drink.
Colmore Food Festival will be returning to Victoria Square in the city centre for the eighth time on Friday, July 6, and Saturday, July 7.
The festival, which attracts more than 30,000 visitors each year, is organised by Colmore BID, the Business Improvement District for the Colmore Row area.
Adam’s and Loki will be alongside Colmore Business District favourites Opus, Hotel du Vin, Purnell’s, Zen Metro and The Old Joint Stock, among many other fantastic restaurants, cafés and bars.
Celebrated chef and TV host Glynn Purnell will help launch the festival before hosting cookery demonstrations on the Kitchen Stage.
This year’s Colmore Food Festival is on a mission to become one of the most sustainable events in Birmingham new food and coffee recycling initiatives and a target of zero waste to landfill - plus a ban on plastic straws.
How does it work? What's the cost?
The festival is free to enter and people simply pay for the dishes or drinks they want at each of the stalls.
Each of the taster dishes costs no more than £4, which means visitors can try the different menu options on offer at more than 30 stalls without breaking the bank.
