Blemish free skin helps you achieve a beautiful, natural healthy look. It also provides a smooth, blank canvas for applying make-up. There are many barriers to blemish free skin, such as spots, sun damage, dry skin and more.

There are a few things you can do for your skin to have the best possible chance of achieving blemish free skin. Firstly, a healthy diet is advisable. Drink at least eight glasses of water per day and try to eat your daily five portions of fruit and veg. Sleep is important for healthy-looking skin too so aim for eight hours a night.

Try to make sure you take all your make-up off at night before going to sleep as this allows your skin to breathe and prevents pores from getting clogged. Use a cleanser followed by a moisturiser that's designed for your skin type. You should also cleanse your skin carefully each morning.

A weekly exfoliation will also do your skin good as it removes dead skin cells, dry patches and more, leaving your skin smooth and cleansed. On another day each week, use a deep cleansing mask to remove deep-down impurities in your skin. A mask can also be used to restore moisture to dry skin.

You should protect your skin on a day-to-day basis by using sun block. This is important even on cloudy days or if you don't live in a hot country. Sun block will block UV rays from damaging your skin and prevent sun spots and pigmentation.

If you do get spots on your face, keep the area clean and moisturised and apply regular antiseptic to dry the spot out. Never pick spots and avoid the temptation to squeeze them even when they look ready. Picking and squeezing can cause permanent or long-term marking on your face.
