Internet sales enjoy higher profit margins with electronic discount vouchers and codes, Corrine Green, DiscountVouchers.org, announced in a press conference today.
“The correlation is a simple one,” she stated. “Shoppers like discounts. They like free shipping. They can get both directly from a website, to be sure. But they enjoy combined savings and combined effort even more.”
Mrs. Green explained that the Internet society that is evolving has a short attention span. E-zines are short; Internet articles are rarely longer than two printed pages. And shoppers don't like to wait in an e-line to get 5% or 10% off then go stand in an e-line on another website.
She declared, “Online shoppers today want the most for their money in the shortest amount of time and in many places at once. But they want discounts that mean something, that have a real savings impact on their budgets. Giving a shopper deep discounts and free shipping on only one or two items in a store won't draw many repeat shoppers. Discount vouchers are often for all purchases and can be repeated time after time and over a longer period than traditional sales events. That kind of consideration and attention paid by a merchant is what transforms a one off customer into a long term friend.”
Whether a shopper learns of a discount voucher or promotional code via a radio or newspaper advert, from a friend or family member, or via an online search, the idea of a bonus or a discount that not everyone may have heard of has always been an attractive one. “And believe me,” she said, “DiscountVouchers.org receives emails from customers who tell us they bought someone's product because of the discount voucher they found here. Shoppers pay attention to them. They want them, and they tell people—they tell us, they tell friends, and they tell family—when the vouchers are worthwhile. But they also tell us and others when the target site doesn't acknowledge the voucher or a page there no longer exists. And very little hurts a business more than negative advertising, even if from individual to individual in the six-degrees-away association.”
She relayed that Currys, the electronics giant, announced new Currys discount codes recently as a continued consideration, and DiscountVouchers.org posted them quickly, so that customers can enjoy those savings as quickly as possible.
Corrine added that any product that can be downloaded or transported from anywhere to anywhere can legitimately use discount vouchers or codes to promote sales. “All it takes is a one off effort from the merchant or manufacturer and a press release. We know that customers want as much information about sales, discounts, and bonuses as possible and quickly, so we post as many of them as we can and notify our own customers of these new finds as soon as we get them up on the website. Then they can look at their leisure among the many merchant sites as they desire, all from one base point,” she stated.
When asked what other merchants utilize the discount voucher or code advertising, Mrs. Green answered with a laugh, “Across the product spectrum? The smart ones!”
