The legal staff will form two teams to take part in the Business Challenge to compete against 300 runners from 30 other firms to win one of the fastest-time trophies on Bank Holiday Sunday, May 1.
Cure Leukaemia are offering free places to 500 people to run in the event who can pledge to raise a minimum fundraising target.
Pinsent Masons hope their fundraising efforts will cover the costs of a specialist research nurse for the charity for 12 months.
One of the teams includes Head of office, Greg Lowson, who is also a Cure Leukaemia Trustee and President of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce,
“We have put together a strong team for the Great Birmingham 10k,” he said.
“We are determined to reach our £40,000 fundraising target for Cure Leukaemia this year and this will be one of the key events that helps us achieve that goal.
“The Business Challenge gives an additional element of fun and competition to the day itself and I would like to encourage other businesses around the city to get involved.
“It will be great fun but I’m sure our runners will be extra determined to ensure Pinsent Masons come out on top.”
More than 7,000 people are expected to take part in this year’s Great Birmingham 10k, which will be started by city music legends UB40.
This year’s run begins an hour later than last year to give participants plenty of time to travel into the city centre.
Jackie Kelly, Cure Leukaemia’s Head of Corporate Partners said: “Since Pinsent Masons set their wonderful fundraising target for 2016 we have been inundated with ideas and fundraising already so it was no surprise when they put forward a strong team for the Great Birmingham 10k.
“I’d urge other Birmingham businesses to consider running for Cure Leukaemia and entering the Business Challenge. It is a great way to not only raise funds, but also engage your employees with some added competition.”
