High fashion conjures images of European cities such as Paris, Milan and Rome. The Italian fashion houses once dominated the designer clothes market; brands like Gucci, Prada, Fendi and Armani were once the must have labels to be seen with for clothes lovers across the globe. However a new wave of brands are emerging and becoming increasingly popular with celebrities and fashion’s cool crowd.
American and English brands are becoming ever stronger in the fashion industry, premium American denim brands such as 7 For All Mankind, Current Elliott and J Brand are all cult hits amongst fashion lovers. Not forgetting Acne, a Swedish label that has had a huge impact in the latest fashion trends, their Pistol leather boots have become a firm favourite and must have buy amongst fashion insiders.
The mix of brands in designer stores and boutiques is becoming gradually less dominated by the Italian designer brands. There are a few reasons as to why this is, the first being that Italian brands are becoming more expensive because of the Euro. Luxury fashion lovers were once prepared to pay more with the knowledge that the clothes were produced in Italian factories but many of the brands are no longer made in Italy; instead they are produced in the Far East countries.
Designer ladieswear retailer, the Editeur sell a variety of designer clothing from Italian brands including Missoni, Pinko, Sportmax and Patrizia Pepe. The Editeur also sells American premium denim brands such as J Brand, and designer lingerie and accessories.
