Popular theme park Alton Towers is looking to fill around 1,000 vacancies ahead of the 2020 season.

The Staffordshire attraction - which is marking its 40th birthday this year - has launched its annual recruitment drive.

It is on the look-out for ride hosts, wardrobe assistants and performers to work across some of its most popular attractions including CBeebies Land and Shark Bait Reef Aquarium.

A number of recruitment events are now being held across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire for anyone who wants to find out more about the positions.

Jason Mumford, senior recruitment and learning and development manager at Alton Towers, said: "We are gearing up for our exciting 2020 season which is a landmark milestone for the resort and great time to be part of the team.

"Getting ready for the new season includes the recruitment of more than 1,000 people to help our guests experience the very best Alton Towers has to offer.

"We pride ourselves on being a totally unique and fun brand to work for with long-term opportunities.

"The nature of the theme park also means we have a wide range of roles with varying hours to suit a variety of lifestyles to take advantage of.

"We would urge anyone looking for employment or simply considering a new role to come along and speak to a member of the team."

Successful candidates will be required to start work in mid-February and will get a free Merlin pass.

Details of the jobs and the recruitment events can be found on the Alton Towers website.
