Worcester Warriors prop Chris Horsman has received a four-week ban following his appearance before Rugby Football Union disciplinary chiefs.

The 31-year-old Wales forward admitted an amended charge of stamping on Harlequins prop Mike Ross during Warriors’ Guinness Premiership defeat eight days ago.

Horsman was cited, which resulted in an appointment with a three-man RFU panel in Swindon. His suspension runs from October 6, the date of the citing, until November 2.

Horsman will miss Worcester’s opening European Challenge Cup appointments with Petrarca tomorrow and Bucuresti, plus the EDF Energy Cup group games against Ospreys and Quins.

Worcester made something of a pre-emptive strike on Wednesday by fining Horsman £2,000 and suspending him for a fortnight.

Horsman has won 14 caps for Wales, making two appearances during last year’s World Cup.
