Worcester have released Steve Sparks from the rest of his contract with immediate effect so he can join French Top 14 side Pau.
The former Saracens prop joined Warriors at the beginning of last season but the form of evergreen Tony Windo has limited him to 22 first-team appearances.
Even though Sparks can play on either side of the scrum, director of rugby, John Brain, felt he had sufficient front-row resources to allow his to leave.
Brain said: "Steve has been a good squad member and we wish him every success with Pau. We understand his need to play more rugby. But with Mike McDonald, Lee Fortey, Callum Black and Matt Mullan all able to play loose-head prop we are happy with our cover in this position."
