The FA have confirmed that Wolves are under investigation over the coin-throwing incident at Molineux that marred Saturday's 1-1 draw with Stoke City.
Stoke defender Michael Duberry claimed he had been hit by a coin while receiving treatment in front of the Jack Harris Stand.
Referee Chris Foy has detailed the apparent missilethrowing in his match report received by the FA yesterday.
An FA spokesman confirmed: "We are aware of the reports and will be contacting Wolves for their observations."
Wolves have already launched their own internal investigation into the alleged incident.
"We are awaiting the referee's and stewards' reports," said chief executive Jez Moxey. "In the meantime we are examining CCTV footage to see if we can identify anyone in the crowd throwing objects.
"If we can identify any Wolves supporter throwing objects at players they will face an indefinite ban from the Molineux."
