Dear Editor, It is very sad that the wonderful firm of Cadbury which has been a world leader in both product quality, innovation and service to the communities of Birmingham especially, will shortly come to an end – seeing a drastic reduction in quality and output and even perhaps the closure of UK bases.

As a Birmingham-born consumer of Cadbury it will be a tragedy to see such an enjoyable foodstuff diminish in character and I fear that all but a few brands will disappear into history.

I would like to thank Cadbury’s on behalf of chocolate eaters the world over for many decades of pleasure and enjoyment – I wish the employees the very best of future success.

They can be proud of their achievement; we can be thankful that we have had the opportunity to enjoy the highest grade of chocolate. Long may that remain in the memory.
