Redditch United have signed Liam Daly and Richard Evans as stars for the future with undoubted roles in the present.

Former Evesham United defender Daly has returned to the Midlands after a stint with Corby Town, and ex-Cheltenham Town prospect Evans, the son of Romulus boss Richard, has joined after a spell at Studley.

Evans, who has been making his comeback after a serious knee injury, is only 19 and Daly is just 20. Both go into the squad for Saturday's home Blue Square North fixture against Hucknall Town.

Reds manager Gary Whild said: "They have got bags of potential and just how far they can go in the game is down to them. We've given them the opportunity."

The Reds have recalled striker Damien Markman from his loan stay at Bromsgrove Rovers after he suffered a niggling groin injury. nAndy Jones has become Bromsgrove Rovers' fifth signing since Duane Darby tookover as caretaker-manager.

Former Stourport Swifts and AFC Telford United central defender Jones has signed from Malvern Town, where he was skipper. Chasetown has also been tracking the player.

Darby has already been busy this week, recruiting right-back or right-sided midfielder Dan Hutton from Stourport Swifts to follow Chris Duggan, Jozsef Jakab and Leigh Downing from Solihull Moors.

Though Hutton comes into contention for Rovers' British Gas Business Premier game at home to Banbury United, Jones will not feature as he recovers from a groin strain.

* Halesowen Town manager Morell Maison will decide in the next 24 hours whether Rodney Hicks will be the latest addition to his squad.

Left-sided midfielder Hicks, who first came to Maison's attention at Rushden & Diamonds last season, has been training with the Yeltz. Now Maison is considering whether to offer him a deal.

"He has been with us for a few weeks and I've got to decide whether he can play a part for us," Maison said.

The Yeltz have received international clearance for Portuguese defender Decio Gomes.

The 23-year-old centre-half arrives from Madeira and played in last weekend's friendly defeat against Sutton Coldfield Town but he could be allowed to go out on loan to help his fitness.
