The West Midlands is braced for another blast of winter weather, with snow predicted across parts of the region on Thursday.

The latest falls will be triggered by moist air from the Atlantic meeting cold air already over the country.

Matt Dobson, forecaster with MeteoGroup, the weather division of the Press Association, said: "From mid-morning there is a risk of snow in south east Wales, then the Midlands, across to parts of East Anglia.

"There are likely to be falls on higher ground, but even on lower levels there could be a covering in some areas.

"It's another blast of winter, which will be followed by a bitterly cold night going into Friday in the areas that are affected.

"There is also the chance of more snow at the weekend, particularly on Sunday, especially in the Midlands."
