Before the April showers took another week away from the cricketing calendar the brave souls at Mainstay Group and Ernst & Young took on the elements for the only surviving fixture in week two of the Warwickshire Taveners Trophy. Noteable performances from messers Henry (2-4) and Wilkinson (1-6) restricted E&Y to an attainable first innings score 144.
Barry Hope at the top of the E&Y order offered the greatest resistance.
He excelled with a well constructed 34.
With the light fading a spritely 32 from Dominic Horne settled the nerves and Mainstay got over the line in the 15th over to claim their first victory of the season.
