Warwickshire's first side completed a clean sweep of three victories in the latest round of Inter-County matches at Walsall Sports Centre.
They whitewashed Surrey 10-0, defeated Hertfordshire 6-4 and completed a 7-3 win over Hampshire. Despite this impressive display, they trail title favourites, York-shire, who are now ten points clear with three games remaining.
Former Birmingham University student Mark Sellwood continues his relentless form after winning all three men's singles and his sixth consecutive win of the campaign.
He beat Surrey's Ben Beckman 15-10, 15-12, Hertford's Richard Doling 15-13, 15-4 and Hampshire's Martin Ventham 15-6, 15-8.
Coventry's 15-year-old Fontaine Chapman, who made her debut in November, enjoyed an exceptional display with three victories. She beat Surrey's Sam Ward 11-4, 11-9, Hertford's Laura Cousins 11-13, 11-9, 11-4 and Hampshire's Hannah Littlecott 13-10, 3-11, 11-2.
Coventry's Jill Pittard contributed six wins out of nine, winning all three ladies' singles, two mixed doubles with Chris Roe and one ladies' doubles with Claire Millward.
Other notable contributions came from Chris Tonks with three men's doubles wins with Tim Lawrence and two mixed doubles with Nuneaton's Catherine Grant. Grant won four doubles, two mixed with Tonks and two ladies' with Joanne Homan.
The fourth side defeated nearest challengers, Gloucestershire's thirds, 9-6 to go top of the division.
In The Birmingham League, it was another excellent week for Hotshots. The ladies extended their lead in Division One after sisters Reggie and Tracy Baker led the side to a 5-1 win over SGN.
Central ladies reproduced the same score against the same SGN side when Vicky Ingram and Linzi Kernick remained undefeated.
Hotshots first mixed side recovered from a 8-1 thrashing by Broadway I to thrash their second side by the same score.
Combinations Doug Woodhouse with Tracy Baker and John Beck with Catherine Grant took the undefeated honours. Trevor Hampson with Fiona McNaughton won a two further games. ..SUPL:
