A primary school has been closed after rats were found to have damaged electrical cabling in the building’s roof space.
Governors at St Andrew’s Benn Church of England School in Rugby, Warwickshire, have agreed to relocate pupils to a nearby infant school site for the remainder of the current term.
The two schools will continue to operate separately and have different start and finish times to reduce disruption.
St Andrew’s Benn’s headteacher Nickie Jones said: “Closing the school has been a difficult decision, but I would like to thank the governors, staff, parents, church and local authority representatives for all their support during our relocation.
“It has been a tremendous effort by everyone and we are looking to make this a positive adventure for the children, during which they can continue their learning.”
