Warwickshire brought the Inter-County season to a close with runners-up spot in the final round of Premier A matches played at Milton Keynes.

They defeated Lancashire 8-2, Gloucestershire 9-1 and shared a 5-5 draw against the new Division One champions, Yorkshire.

As a result, Warwickshire created a new record of being undefeated in the past two seasons.

Solihull's Julia Mann and Coventry's Jill Pittard provided an undefeated performance with six victories each. Mann defeated Lancashire's Sam Alexander 11-0, 11-0, Gloucester's Michelle Davis 11-1, 11-1 and Yorkshire's Julie Pike 11-4, 11-2 in her ladies' singles.

Pittard beat Connie Leong 11-0, 11-0, Kerry Mullen 11-4, 11-0 and Jess White 11-1, 11-1 in her singles and partnered Mann to three successive ladies' doubles wins.

Coventry's Chris Roe enjoyed five victories in the men's and mixed doubles. He partnered Carl Goode in men's doubles wins against Lancashire and Gloucester and had mixed doubles wins with Claire Millward (2) and Catherine Grant.

England international Chris Tonks completed four victories. He won two men's doubles with Tim Lawrence and two mixed doubles with Coventry's Catherine Grant. Grant contributed a further four wins to complete an excellent season.
