Virus-hit school to reopen

A Black Country primary school was due to reopen today after an outbreak of the vomiting bug Norovirus.

Tividale Community Primary School, in Oldbury, closed its doors last Wednesday after a number of children fell ill.

All 385 of the Sandwell schoolchildren were told to stay at home.

It is believed that about 20 per cent of children in years five and six at the school in Rood End Road were affected.

Parents were told they would be informed of the school reopening by text, and a recorded message on school’s telephone number said it expected to reopen today.

The closure took place as a precautionary measure to prevent any possible further spread of the virus.
