A Birmingham van retailer has secured a £5.8 million fleet deal with Coca-Cola.

Volkswagen Van Centre Birmingham agreed the contract with Coca-Cola Enterprises, which manufactures and sells more than four billion bottles and cans in Great Britain every year.

The carbonated drinks giant purchased a 233-strong fleet of Volkswagen Transporters and Caddy Maxi vans.

The fleet will be used by the company’s 250 engineers who install and maintain drink dispensers and vending machines across the country.

Tom Sayer, fleet manager at Coca-Cola Enterprises, said: “Our aim was to acquire a fleet with a strong all-around performance and good residual value. The Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle range met those needs and stood out as an excellent investment.”

The deal was managed by HVF. David Gilbert, the firm’s corporate relationship manage, said: He said: “The Birmingham team provide an excellent service and this certainly contributed to a smooth fleet transition.”

Tony Worrall, sales manager at Volkswagen Van Centre Birmingham, said: “We are delighted to have satisfied Coca-Cola Enterprises and HVF. We hope to strengthen these relationships in the future.”
