Teeny-bopper, chart rocker act Fightstar jetted into Birmingham for a whistlestop performance at Musiczone yesterday.

Fronted by ex- Busted singer and teen hearthrob Charlie Simpson, the band performed their brand of angst ridden pop, throwing all the right shapes to thrill the young crowd.

Despite the fact the majority of fans seemed to be present because they "liked Busted", the boys were cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd that were glued to Charlie's every dance move.

One fan, Lauren Craven, aged 17, had brought three copies of latest single, Paint your Target, to be autographed by the band in a frantic signing session that took place afterwards. Another, Shaun Preece, aged 19, was delighted with the new band.

"Charlie was pushed back in Busted and sounds a lot better now," he said.

Fans were shocked earlier this year when Busted announced their decision to quit after three years together.

However, Charlie said he had no regrets about the split and felt that Fightstar's formula of quiet/loud power rock was the best.
