Two Birmingham city centre streets were closed for hours on Tuesday when a man threatened to jump from a multi-storey car park.
Police negotiators were called to the NCP on Albert Street and Dale End after reports of a man threatening to jump from the building at 11.10am.
The car park and both Albert Street and Dale End were closed to the public as police attempted to talk the man down.
The incident left hordes of workers and Christmas shoppers unable to get to their vehicles.
Police teams spent more than three hours trying to coax the man down before he was finally led to safety at about 2.30pm.
•Last year the city centre was brought to a standstill for over 24 hours when a man threatened to jump from a bridge over Paradise Circus Queensway.
The man was eventually overcome by officers after a 28-hour stand-off.
