Two men have been found guilty of the kidnap and murder of a former male model from Birmingham whose remains were discovered almost two years after his death.

Michael Weldon, 56, and Mark Price, 41, were convicted at Birmingham Crown Court of killing Andre Nunes, whose body was found buried in Worcestershire in August last year.

The pair went to the home of Mr Nunes, in Selly Oak, armed with shotguns and took him away to his death, jurors were told during the nine-week trial.

Following the kidnap in the early hours of September 11, 2005, Mr Nunes' girlfriend woke in his flat to find him gone and the front door kicked off its hinges, the court was told.

The 47-year-old's disappearance remained a mystery until his burnt remains were found in a four-acre field in the grounds of Moorfields - a country property in Lilley Green Road, near Alvechurch, Worcestershire.

The jury took 12 hours to convict Weldon, of Toll House Road, Rednal, Worcestershire, and 13 hours to convict Price, of Wharf Road, Kings Norton, Birmingham, of kidnap and murder.

The pair were also found guilty of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

A third man, Michael Oliver, 52, who lived at Moorfields, was convicted of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
