Dear Editor, Now that we have got some so called Brummy “celebrities” on the Walk of Stars isn’t it time we had a real live person who was actually born here, and still lives in our city similarly, and deservedly, honoured.
This person, who doesn’t take drugs, doesn’t swear in public and promotes our great city with his every breath, is far more deserving of a star than most of the previous recipients.
He grew up when times were tough, fought his way from the back-to-backs to become a prominent citizen through sacrifice and hard self-endeavour.
He has proved beyond measure his love and pride for his home town, and unlike most of the “stars” he didn’t get out at the first opportunity.
His passion for all things Brummy is unfailingly obvious and undiminished.
I am of course refering to Professor Carl Chinn, a true dyed-in-the-wool “Brummy”. Come on fellow Brummies get writing on his behalf.
