Dear Editor, I hope somebody may be able to help me in tracing descendants of my grandfather Richard Arthur Pym, who was the father of my mother and lived in Cambridge until the 1920s when I understand he moved to Birmingham.

We believe he could have been born in 1885, possibly in Exeter and, whilst in Cambridge worked as a printer. During the 1914-18 war he served in the Army and was decorated for bravery.

My search has revealed a Richard Arthur Pym who died on June 8, 1947, aged 62, who lived at 60 Kenwood Road, Birmingham 9, but I cannot be certain that this was my grandfather.

I never knew him and all I have are a few photographs taken during his military service but I would love to know more about him. I do hope that somebody might recognise the name and if so would be grateful if they could please either e-mail me on pete706@btinternet.com or call me on 01522 751933.
