Three people were taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in south Birmingham on Saturday.

The accident happened in Wake Green Road, Moseley, at approximately 2.35am when a car collided with a hedge.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said three men believed to be in their 20s had been travelling in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

The rear seat passenger was treated on scene for multiple injuries including a serious head injury, chest and pelvic injuries. He was immobilised using a spinal board and neck collar before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

The driver of the vehicle was trapped in the car before being freed and taken to the same hospital for further treatment.

The front seat passenger was treated on scene for a minor shoulder injury and taken to City Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
