West Midlands Police have chaged three people in connection with the murders of a devoted couple found dead in their Wolverhampton home.

Macaej Kus, 30, from Birmingham, will face charges alongside Wojciech Ostolski, 32, and 21-year-old Lieneusz Bartnowski, both from Wolverhampton.

Police said all three were to face charges connected with the murders of Giuseppe Massaro and his wife Caterina Massaro and one count of aggravated burglary.

The bodies of 80-year-old Giuseppe and 77-year-old Caterina were found at their home in Woden Road, Park Village, at 8pm last Friday.

Police revealed they had been killed as a result of an attack with a hammer and a knife.

The three men were arrested late on Sunday and early Monday morning in connection with the investigation.

They are to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Supt Mark Payne, from Wolverhampton Police, said: “I would really like to thank everyone  who has come forward to help this enquiry.

“Our thoughts and sympathies remain with the Massaro family at this very difficult time.”
