Three people have appeared in court charged with murdering a father-of-three whose body was found at a landfill site in Shropshire.

Melissa Parkes, James Haigh and Zena Tinsley spoke only to confirm their names, dates of birth and addresses during a brief hearing before magistrates in Telford.

Parkes, 21, and Haigh, 30, both of Church Street, St Georges, Telford, and Tinsley, 27, of Randlay, Telford, are all charged with the murder of Stephen Round.

The defendants were detained by police last Saturday, a day after Mr Round's body was discovered at a recycling centre in Grange Lane, Redhill, Telford.

A post-mortem examination carried out by a Home Office pathologist found that Mr Round, who lived alone in the St Georges area, died of head and neck injuries.

Parkes, Haigh and Tinsley were all remanded in custody to appear for a bail hearing on Friday at Shrewsbury Crown Court.
