A Royal Bank of Scotland processing centre in Telford is set to be axed after the back announced a cull of a further 3,500 jobs from its 160,000-strong workforce.

The bank, which is 84 per cent owned by taxpayers, will also close or cut staff at operations in Bolton, Bradford, Bristol, Harrogate, Leeds, Liverpool, Milton Keynes, Norwich and Plymouth.

the latest announcement will take to 27,000 the number of jobs lost at the bank since CEO Stephen Hester took over the reigns in November 2008.
