A teenager has appeared in court charged with murdering a 32-year-old man who was shot dead outside a city centre nightclub.
Tishane Bernard, of Jarvis Road, Erdington, Birmingham, spoke only to confirm his personal details during a brief hearing at the city's magistrates' court.
The 18- year- old is accused of murdering Andrew Huntley, who was gunned down outside the the Air venue on Heath Mill Lane in the Digbeth area of Birmingham.
A post-mortem examination showed the 32-year-old had been shot up to five times in the head and body.
No application for bail was made on Bernard's behalf and he was remanded in custody to appear again at Birmingham Crown Court on August 8 for a plea and directions hearing.
The defendant is also charged with two counts of possessing two lock knives on July 28.
Mr Huntley died at the scene of the shooting shortly after 1.20am on July 23.
A second man and a woman arrested on suspicion of murder have been released by detectives investigating Mr Huntley's death.
The man, aged 19, from central Birmingham, has been released on police bail. West Midlands Police said no further action would be taken against the woman.
