Two 15-year-old boys have been taken to hospital after a crash involving the vehicle they were in and a fire engine in Worcestershire.

The collision happened at New Road, Bromsgrove, shortly after 8.30am on Wednesday.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The crew from the fire engine were not injured and helped in removing the roof from the people carrier-type vehicle involved in the collision."

One of the boys suffered cuts to his face and was taken to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.

The other injured boy complained of chest and neck pain. He was immobilised with the use of a spinal board and neck collar and was taken to the same hospital.

A third boy and the driver were both uninjured.
