The mother of a prostitute who was found dead in a Black Country flat yesterday made a tearful appeal for information on her daughter's killers.
Jacqueline Meaks said her 29-year-old daughter Jennifer Linton, whose decomposed body was found at a flat in Walsall, was a devoted mother who "did not deserve to die" in those circumstances.
The mother of three lived at Deansfield Road, in Wolverhampton, but spent a lot of time at the property in Kent Close, Aldridge, where she was found on October 17.
With Jennifer's aunt Linda Talbot, Ms Meaks made an appeal at a press conference at West Midlands Police headquarters.
Ms Meaks said: "I would like to say that my daughter was a loving and caring mother who doted on her children. The most important thing in her life were her children.
"She did not deserve to die like this. She was young and there are three children who are now without their mother."
Det Chief Insp Baljeet Sidhu, crime manager at Walsall police station, called on anyone who visited Ms Linton between September 17 and 20 to come forward.
Mr Sidhu said Ms Linton was also known by the name "Shannon". She had two boys aged 14 and eight, and a daughter aged 12.
She was reported missing days before she was found at the flat, which she used for prostitution purposes.
A 28-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed pending further enquiries.
