West Brom captain Chris Brunt is in contention for his first start in two months, after recovering from a broken foot, in Sunday's Barclays Premier League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Northern Ireland international would be a ready-made replacement for fellow midfielder Jerome Thomas, who is struggling to overcome a hamstring injury which has dogged him in recent weeks.

With right-back Steven Reid already ruled out with an ankle problem, head coach Roy Hodgson is hoping Billy Jones will have shaken off a leg injury to replace him. If he is still ruled out, Gabriel Tamas is likely to deputise.

Provisional squad: Foster, Fulop, Tamas, Jones, Olsson, McAuley, Dawson, Ridgewell, Shorey, Mulumbu, Brunt, Scharner, Andrews, Morrison, Dorrans, Thomas, Tchoyi, Cox, Fortune, Odemwingie, Long.
