Business golfers are being challenged to put their corporate reputations on the line. The Birmingham Post Corporate Golf Challenge has been thrown down and battle will commence at Blackwell Golf Club, near Bromsgrove, on Wednesday, May 17.

The event is now in its third year and last year the trophy was won by Embossed Polythene of Halesowen who arethis year unable to defend the challenge, leaving the field open to all comers.

Once again The Birmingham Post Corporate Golf Challenge has been made possible by the kind sponsorship of Allied Irish Bank (GB).

This year's competition is again being masterminded by former European Tour player Pip Elson supported by Andy Skinner of ASAP Events.

The winners will retain a superb glass trophy for a year, with replica trophies to keep, and there will be a range of prizes for the top teams to be presented at the special prize giving dinner to be held in Blackwell Golf Club's renowned restaurant during the evening.

Pip Elsonsaid: "As last year, the competition is open to teams of four and the format will be an 18 holes stableford competition with the best two net scores to count on each hole. Maximum handicap is 24 for men, 30 for ladies."

Post readers are invited to enter teams from registered companies and players must be able to provide proof of handicap.

Entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, and must be accompanied by a cheque for #411.25 (#350 plus VAT) made payable to ASAP and sent to Kirsty Paterson, ASAP, 1a High Street, Astwood Bank, Redditch, Worcs, B96 6DB.
