Pertemps Bees have released prop Reuben Leilau after five months at Sharmans Cross Road.

The Samoan arrived from club rugby in Brisbane at the start of the season but struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular and has featured only intermittently in the squad since late October.

* Stourbridge lock Jon Taylor has been cleared of stamping on an opponent.

Taylor was sent off for the offence in the National Two game against Orrell on December 17 but pleaded not guilty at a hearing near Coventry.

But Taylor received a four-week suspension for accumulating three yellow cards for foul play this season.

He will be free to resume playing on February 7 having served a one-week suspension imposed by his club.

* Barkers' Butts have been handed a trip to South Yorkshire in the last 16 of this season's English National Colts Knockout Cup.

Barkers', who count England internationals Neil Back, Danny Grewcock and Rob Hardwick among their most famous products, booked their place in the fifth round with a 20-11 home win over Kettering last Saturday.

But they face a tough away assignment at Dinnington, who ousted Leighton Buzzard 20-0 in the fourth round.

Moseley, who won the competition in its inaugural season in 1997-98, have been handed a home tie against West Hartlepool as reward for their 36-0 home win against Scunthorpe in the fourth round.

The winners of the delayed Dudley Kingswinford v Stourbridge Black Country derby will also enjoy home advantage against Rochdale in the fifth round but Old North-amptonians' reward for their 91-0 home win over Carlisle is a trip to Leeds to play Moortown.

* North Midlands pair George Crook and Matt Cox are in England's Under-18 training squad.

Crook, a fly-half, and Cox, a blindside flanker, play their club rugby for Worcester. Crook is also a pupil at Bromsgrove School.

They have been named in a 49-strong squad for training camps at RAF Cosford and Castlecroft in Wolverhampton next month before training matches against Wales in Newport on March 5. n Four Midlands players are in a provisional England Under-16 squad for training at Castlecroft on January 27 and 28.

Their inclusion in a 40-strong squad follows the first Divisional Festival of the season at Castlecroft last weekend in which the Midlands drew 10-10 with the South West and 15-15 with London.

The Midlands players invited to the England training session are: hooker Sam Collins (Kineton HS and Warwickshire), scrum-half Oliver Frost (Bishop of Hereford Bluecoat School and North Midlands), centre Oliver Grove (Rugby School and Warwickshire) and lock Graham Kitchener (Adams GS and North Midlands).

Midlands players not selected in the training squad have the chance to impress when the Midlands play the North at Castlecroft on Sunday January 29 (10am). London will play the South West at 11.30am.

An extended squad of about 70 players will prepare for the international programme in the spring. England's senior Under-16 side will play games against Wales, Italy and France.
