Singer Pete Doherty will face no further action after being arrested following a Babyshambles gig in October, police said.
West Mercia Police confirmed that Doherty, who was detained after a concert at Shrewsbury Music Hall on October 1, had now been released from police bail.
Detective Sergeant Jason Wells, of Shrewsbury CID, said: "A man arrested in Shrewsbury on October 1 on suspicion of a drugs offence following a complaint by a member of the public will not be prosecuted.
"Police carried out further investigations following the arrest and have decided to take no further action.
"The man's police bail has been cancelled."
Doherty protested his innocence on October 2 following his release from Telford police station after questioning.
The on-off boyfriend of model Kate Moss told reporters that police had mistaken an implant aimed at keeping him off drugs for "hard stuff".
