Police in Shropshire have taken the unusual step of appealing for the maker of a packed lunch to come forward.

Consisting of freshly made sandwiches and a packet of salt-and-vinegar Walkers crisps, the meal is thought to have belonged to someone who allegedly robbed an elderly woman in Wem.

The woman suffered a dislocated shoulder in the incident, in the Drawwell Lane area on the morning of June 1.

Detective Constable Pete Wormley of West Mercia Police said a person matching the description of the alleged offender was seen to place a Nisa carrier bag, containing the lunch, in a nearby cemetery shortly afterwards.

"I would urge anyone who made someone such a packed lunch on that Sunday morning or the night before, which would be unusual as it was on a weekend, to please contact police." ..SUPL:
