The mother of an 18-year-old girl who died when the vehicle she was in crashed into a house in Worcestershire has paid tribute to her daughter as "a shining star".

Beverley Ann Paul, from Porter Road, Evesham, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision in Elm Road shortly before 3am on Sunday.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and causing death by dangerous driving and later bailed to attend Worcester police station.

In a statement released through West Mercia Police, Wendy Paul said: "Beverley was my inspiration, she lit up my life.

"Her contagious laughter and bubbly personality was an inspiration to us all. She was always there to lift up my spirits and was so positive and supportive.

"She had so many, many friends. People could not help but love her. She made circles of friends wherever she went and they were right across the age range."

Three men suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.
