A man caught with obscene images of children on his computer has been sentenced to a three-year community rehabilitation order.

Peter Carlo (51), of Bordesley Green East, Stechford, Birmingham, who admitted distributing, possessing and making indecent images, was put on the sex offenders register for five years.

Katie Simpson, prosecuting at the city's Magistrates Court, said last August police executed a search warrant at an address in Blackpool, examined computer equipment and found an email account registered to Carlo's home in Birmingham.

A search was carried out at the defendant's address and police found a number of obscene photos after examining his computer, five of them downloaded onto disc.

Carlo admitted visiting a website and discussing sexual activities. He said he received emails and sent an indecent image on email.
