A nine-year-old schoolgirl has been taken to hospital with a head injury after she was in collision with a bus in south Birmingham.

A nine-year-old schoolgirl has been taken to hospital with a head injury after she was in collision with a bus in south Birmingham.

The incident happened near the College Arms, Stratford Road, in Hall Green, at just after 4pm on Wednesday.

The road was closed by police while emergency services treated the girl.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "When crews arrived they found a nine-year-old girl who had suffered a potentially serious head injury.

"She was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board before being taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
