Walsall head to rock-bottom Port Vale today looking to extend their unbeaten run but, while some teams may be moaning about the amount of games in such a short period of time, Richard's Money in-form side would play every day.

The Saddlers moved into the play-off places after the outstanding victory over Millwall at the Banks's Stadium on Saturday and they cannot wait to extend their 12-game unbeaten run at Vale Park today.

The announcement that Walsall will now play Yeovil on January 8 - their seventh game inside three weeks - did not dampen Money's spirit and he said his side were relishing the challenge.

"The Yeovil game was forced upon us by the league but we are quite happy to play it," said Money. "The players have got themselves in a bit of a groove where they are happy playing. We were almost disappointed not to have a game last Tuesday.

"We won't be taking the players away over the Christmas period to Port Vale and Oldham because I think the players are happier in their own homes.

"But we will be in every day and make sure we recover, which is the most important thing, and the players are enjoying their football at the moment.

"I think if the team is doing well and if players are in good form they can't wait to play.

"We have been pretty settled over this period. We have played a lot of games and the team has pretty much picked itself.

"I know people think we have got a thin squad but if you look at those players who haven't been playing regularly lately, people like Ian Roper, Paul Boertien, Michael Dobson, Edrissa Sonko and Paul Hall, together with some promising youngsters people haven't even seen yet, like Richard Taundry, Alex Nicholls and McDermott, there is strength there.

"I am not saying it is complete, the squad, but it is by no means thin.

"Like everyone else, we wouldn't want to be playing without too many of our important players, but that is no different whether you are Walsall or Aston Villa. The Nottingham Forest and Leeds United games showed what the team are capable of.

"We know we are going to have to be lucky with injury and suspension. If we can get the rub of the green in terms of our important players being able to play together at the same time, I think we can have an interesting second half to the season. I suspect the players are thinking that too."

Michael Ricketts came off at half-time against Millwall, feeling the effects of flu, but should be fit, while Mark Bradley was substituted as a precaution after taking a knock.

Boertien and Dobson are coming back from injury but are unlikely to feature.
