Budget airline Ryanair has launched 14 new lines from Birmingham International Airport.

The airline announced new services to Malaga, Alicante, Murcia, Palma, Katowice, Krakow, Frankfurt (Hahn), Fuerteventura, Prague, Szczecin, Derry, Dusseldorf (Weeze), Kaunas and Bologna.

It operates a choice of over 30 destinations from Birmingham. Ryanair sales and narketing UK executive Laura McCormack said: “We are delighted to introduce these new routes from Birmingham Airport. There is great demand for low-cost travel in Birmingham. While other airlines are pulling flights and reducing frequencies, Ryanair is committed to growth."

Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary recently insisted the credit crunch was “good for business”.
