CONFERENCE Table-toppers Bromsgrove Rovers' unbeaten record was not so much ended as destroyed.
Undefeated in 11 games in the British Gas Business League Midland Division, Rovers' twelfth match proved a post-Halloween horror as Cinderford Town routed them 7-1 on their own Victoria Ground pitch.
Cinderford, fifth in the table, raced into a 3-0 half-time lead with goals by Matty Williams, Richard Kear and Nathan Jukes.
Neil Davis' header on 55 minutes gave Rod Brown's men some hope but that quickly evaporated as Jamie Hammond, Chris Burns, Neil Griffiths and Ben Gascoyne found the home net.
Stourbridge closed the gap on the leaders to two points after they produced a thrilling fightback to defeat Dunstable 4-2 away.
A Chris Marsh penalty and Stuart Deaton's effort just before half time put Dunstable seemingly in charge but the Glassboys stormed back through Ross Collins and Nathan Bennett to level before Paul Moore and Leon Broadhurst (pictured) struck in the final two minutes.
Pre-season promotion favourites Brackley Town swept aside Sutton Coldfield Town 4-1 at Coles Lane.
Brackley led 3-0 through Matt Murphy, Tom Winters and Robbie Beard before the Royals replied with a Neil O'Sullivan volley from Jamie Hood's cross on 51 minutes. Craig Farley, however, added the visitors' fourth and Sutton's day was summed up when Justin Rowe, last season's top scorer, limped off with a ham-string injury.
Malvern Town's "away game" ploy to beat their home jinx failed, despite looking the brighter side in a 1-1 draw against Berkhamsted at the Lang-land Stadium.
Malvern, without a home win this term, embarked on an hour-long pre-match coach trip to try to replicate their encouraging away form but they trailed to Darren Francis' ruthless finish on 65 minutes. Wes Joyce and Richard Tompkins combined for Neil Gardiner to level five minutes later.
Jae Martin netted twice in Bed-worth United's 2-2 draw at Barton Rovers. The hosts led through goals by Daniel Douglas and James Hatch but Martin converted a Jamie Williams' free kick and 80th-minute penalty.
