Bryan Robson described as "positive" a meeting he held with the West Bromwich Albion board of directions.

Robson, the Albion manager, who will lead the club into the Coca-Cola Championship next season, will not be forced to sell any player. Indeed, he will be given funds with which to strengthen the squad.

"I had a meeting with the chairman and board and it was very positive," said Robson. "We talked about the future and trying to make sure we keep all the boys and add to the squad.

"If we can get a couple of the players we're after and keep the current boys happy then it gives us a really good chance for next season. I think the current players showed on Sunday they are very capable.

"I've identified positions and given the chairman a list of players I'd like to bring in. He will work on that over the next few days and weeks. A lot depends on the lads who are out of contract with us but we will try to get a couple in regardless.

"The board and I want people in by the time we get back for pre-season on July 6 because it shows the supporters and the boys the intentions and ambitions of this club.

"It shows we're serious about getting back to the Premiership and not hanging around."
