Andy Robinson predicts a "phenomenally tough" match against Argentina at Twickenham on Saturday as England strive to avoid a seventh successive Test defeat.

The head coach will retain 14 of the starting line-up from a record Twickenham loss to World Cup favourites New Zealand - prop Andrew Sheridan is recovering from a sore back, so 33-year-old Perpignan prop Perry Freshwater has been called up.

New Zealand-born Freshwater, whose father is from London, wins his fourth cap and makes his full debut after replacement appearances last season.

On the bench, Wasps lock Tom Palmer, uncapped Newcastle back Toby Flood and World Cup winner Josh Lewsey feature - Chris Jones, Andy Goode and Mark Van Gisbergen make way.

Wasps star Lewsey has recovered from a knee injury sustained against Perpignan 11 days ago.

Robinson said of defeat to New Zealand: "I thought it was tremendous the way the team responded in the second half and it is important to

give everyone a chance to back up this week in what is going to be a phenomenally tough game.

"Apart from a six-minute spell, I was pleased with how we approached the game. We did some really good things out there, and it is not right to make lots of different changes."

Argentina have never beaten England on home soil.

With England and Premier Rugby agreed that no player will start more than three of the four November Tests, changes are inevitable for the two Springbok encounters. Robinson's priority, though, is to prepare his team for a difficult encounter that they simply must win.
