Given the fact that wins are rare things these days England coach Andy Robinson has decided to preserve Saturday's victory over Italy in captain-form.

Robinson yesterday confirmed that Martin Corry, the ferocious Leicester No 8 who grew up in Stourbridge and led his country for the first time at the weekend, will continue as England captain for the Calcutta Cup clash with Scotland at Twickenham on Saturday evening.

The Tigers back row forward was clearly inspired by his new role not only overseeing a victorious debut as captain, England?s first win of the Six Nations this season, but producing an individual display that earned him the man of the match award.

Both factors would have been utmost in Robinson?s mind when he decided to retain the 31-year-old as his on-field general.

?Martin showed tremendous leadership out there last Saturday. He took everything that comes with captaining your country in his stride and had a great game,? Robinson said.

?I know he will relish the challenge of the Calcutta Cup and will again be a worthy captain.?

Corry made his England debut in 1997 but was restricted to the bench by the presence of Lawrence Dallaglio, Neil Back and Richard Hill.
